Le Massif des Bauges Regional Nature Park
The Bauges Massif Regional Nature Park came into existence 7th December 1995. The mission of the first charter (1995 / 2007) was the revitalisation of an area to stem the rural exodus, while at the same time preserving and enhancing its natural heritage and exceptional local culture.
Twelve years later, the economic momentum of the Alpine Arc and the first actions of the Park have reversed the trends. The charter 2008 / 2019 is resolutely commmitted to controlling urban sprawl and land development while continuing the harmonious development of the mountains. This agreement is signed by the 64 communes of the region, 6 gate-way towns, the departments of the Savoie and Haute-Savoie and the Rhône-Alpes region.
