FRANCE MONTAGNE

France Montagnes is an association that brings together the major players in the mountain tourism industry of France. The objective of France Montagnes is to promote the mountains of France on a national and international level. 

 

The professional associations and elected officials of the mountains (Professionels Associés de la Montagne, Ski France International and l'Association Nationale des Maires de Stations de Montagnes) made a framework agreement in 2005 based on their shared goals and interests.  In 2006, they united as an Economic Interest Group, establishing the foundations of France Montagnes. This initiative allowed the three organisations to work together more closely, and to put forth a new image of the mountains of France. 

 

These initiatives led to the creation, in 2010, of France Montagnes as it is known today.  The association is the primary reference for the mountain tourism industry of France, acting on three focus areas: communication, promotion and press relations.
